The Pegasus Trust has announced a transformative public welfare initiative aimed at creating a better and cleaner tomorrow. As part of this ambitious project, the Trust will install a mini 5-star café, advanced e-toilets, and additional modern facilities designed for the convenience of the common public. The first installation is scheduled to take place in Kochi, with plans to expand the project across pan-India locations in phases.

A CSR-Focused Public Convenience Model

The core objective of this initiative is to ensure the effective utilization of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds by channeling them into projects that directly benefit the public. By investing CSR resources into high-quality public infrastructure, companies and corporates can enhance their brand image while earning recognition and respect from State and Central authorities, the Judiciary, media, and the general public.

Each installation is expected to generate 6–8 employment opportunities, contributing to local job creation. The facility will include:

Premium 5-star hygiene-standard e-toilets

A mini café for public refreshment

LED advertising screens mounted on top

EV charging stations

Operations powered entirely by solar energy

Designed with Hygiene and Safety in Mind

The concept of the e-toilet was developed after receiving feedback from women who expressed concerns about the high risk of urinary infections due to unhygienic public restrooms. Addressing this critical issue, Pegasus Trust has incorporated advanced hygiene-focused designs to ensure safety, cleanliness, and serenity.

Notably, these installations will operate independently without relying on external electricity or water connections. A dedicated borewell system will provide water, while solar panels will generate the required electricity. The projects will be established on government properties, ensuring public accessibility and convenience.

Sustainable Revenue and Social Impact

Revenue generated from advertisements displayed on the LED screens will be used to pay employee salaries and cover operational expenses. Any surplus funds will be handed over to the respective municipality, corporation, or panchayat to support their CSR and community development activities.

The primary objective of this initiative is not financial gain but to create a meaningful social and environmental impact. The project aligns with a broader vision of promoting human welfare, sustainability, and enhanced public infrastructure.

According to Ajit Ravi, Chairman of Pegasus Trust,

“My main aim is to provide well-maintained and hygienic facilities for all individuals without expecting any business profit unlike others.”

With over two decades of presence in media and events, the Pegasus Group continues to expand its social initiatives under Pegasus Trust. This project reflects a progressive shift in national focus—from a merely Swachh (Clean) India to a Sundar (Beautiful) India—prioritizing both hygiene and aesthetic public spaces.

Pegasus Trust is now set to undertake one of its largest public convenience projects, centered on improving everyday life for common citizens across India.
